Director, Nicholas Skinner

Mr. Nicholas Skinner, Director of VEAB, has worked in the environmental sector for over twenty two years with more than 19 years of international experience in more than 30 different countries in Europe, Asia and Africa. 

Nicholas started his career with WSP Environment, before moving on to Dar Al-Handasah and then Louis Berger Group. During this time he worked on a wide range of projects across the globe, mainly on donor funded road a transport projects. Of particular note was his involvement in the REFS program in Afghanistan, a 1 billion dollar USAID program, where he managed the environmental and social aspects of the program for over 6 years. His role also took him to several conflict and post conflict zones, such as Liberia (2005) and South Sudan (2007 to 2010). 

Upon leaving Louis Berger Group, Nicholas freelanced for almost ten years developing a network of clients and continuing to work on projects across the globe. While most of his focus was on transport projects he moved into the energy sector working on a diverse range of projects including:

KEK Network and Supply Project, Kosovo

Daimer Basha Dam Project Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), Pakistan

Power Generation Efficiency Improvement Project, Uzbekistan

​Technical Oversight of Project Execution for Renewable Energy Infrastructure, Indonesia

​Electricity Networks of Armenia Modernisation of Distribution Network, Armenia

​East Africa Geothermal Energy Facility (EAGER), Tanzania

In 2019 Nicholas established VEAB and has since continued to work primarily in the energy and transport spheres.

Environmental specialist, Laura Morgoieva

Laura is a young professional in the field of Environmental Studies. She has obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Ecology and a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Development and Environmental Economics. During her studies, she participated in a wide range of research projects, which included analysis of EIAs of existing infrastructural projects, sustainable planning for communities, as well as environmental valuation of natural goods and services. Her previous work experience covered projects mainly focused on energy efficiency in public buildings and solid and hazardous waste management. Laura speaks English, Ukrainian and Russian fluently.
